

Jerry Cecil Coover Jr, 95, of Midwest City, OK passed away April 18th 2014. He was born in Woodward, OK on the 7th of March, 1919. He was an accomplished baseball and basketball player as well as well as an avid fan of all OU sports. He started fighting fires as a teenager at Tonkawa Junior College then continued during his tour of duty in World War II and retired after 31 and half years at Tinker Air Force Base Fire Department as Station Chief. He filled his later years with time at the church, yard care, home carpentry, and making memories with his family.
He is survived by 3 children, Carolyn Cummings, Jerry Lynn Coover, and Richard Van Coover; 11 grandchildren Cathy, Kevin, Cheryl, Keith, Clarissa, Jason, Anthony, Joseph, Clayton, Nicole, Hannah; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Lu Simpson Fenton, Marie Vollmer, Ruth McLennan, Inabel Coover, James Coover, Lorraine Shultz Robertson, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Jean Coover and loving wife Aris Coover.
Funeral services will be at 10am Wednesday April 23rd, 2014 at Wickline Methodist Church, 417 Mid America Blvd, internment will be at Arlington Memory Gardens. Funeral arrangements by Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City. Arrangements under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City, Oklahoma.
