Jim S. York, 94, of Oklahoma City, passed away May 17, 2018. He was born March 18, 1924 in Paden, Oklahoma, the son of Clyde and Tennie (Coleman) York. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Mayridge Baptist Church and the American Legion. Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. He worked in machinery maintenance for Southwest Paving for many years and was a master of many trades. Jim and Iris Batterton were united in marriage on October 1, 1942 in Okemah, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jimmy York, and his siblings, Gene, John, Bob, Fred, Jewel and Mary. He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Iris York of Oklahoma City; daughter, Linda York of Moore and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00 am at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
