

Joe L. Daugherty, 65, of Oklahoma City, OK went home to the lord on June 6, 2013. He was the son of Cecil O. Daugherty and Ann E. Daugherty. Joe was born in Oklahoma City, OK on Oct. 20, 1947. He went to Central High school and after several occupations, he started designing and painting billboards and signs throughout Oklahoma with Donrey Outdoor. Joe was better known as the mentor for just about every sign painter that ever opened a can of Ronan sign paint. A few of his protégé’s are still in business today. After retiring from Donrey he opened AdCraft signs. He then became a deputy reserve for Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Dept., then security at Dealers Auto Auction and Select Specialties before retiring in 2012. Joe loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was interested in every aspect of his grandkids lives and enjoyed playing with the great-grandchildren. He will be extremely missed every day. Joe was always joking around and found something funny in every situation. He loved to go to pawn shops and get the best deal, golfing when he could, playing on the computer and watching movies. He was proud of his large collection of movies and music. 50’s music was his favorite. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Cynthia, Cecil, Michael and his beloved cat Hannah. He is survived by his son Chris and wife Michelle of OKC, daughter Cynthia of OKC, son Tom and wife Martha of Mustang, son Kevin and wife Deanna of Mustang, and 10 grandchildren Michelle, Jack, Kyler, Emelio, Raquel, Cheyenne, Antonio, Lorenzo, Eliott and Jaxon, and 2 great-grandchildren Lindsay and Brayden. He is also survived by his sisters Jean Wiggins, Patricia Frazier, Linda Rowland, Kate Butler and Robin Horton as well as his brothers Jimmy and Leslie Daugherty. Joe also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
