Johnny Derald Palmer

The son of Lige Palmer and Ruby (Harris) Palmer, Johnny was born July 30, 1944 in Hobart, OK.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam as a Helicopter Pilot with the Americal Division. He continued to serve in the Army Reserves after his release from active duty. Johnny retired as a Colonel after 27 years of service.

Johnny married the “Love of His Life” Kathy Wynonda Parker on July 30, 1966 in Sentinel, Ok. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University, Class of 67, with a degree in Agricultural Economics and later attended SWOSU where he received his Bachelors in Accounting.

Johnny was employed by the IRS for 30 years. Upon retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, working in his yard, and spoiling his dogs.

Johnny is survived by his wife Kathy Palmer, of Oklahoma City, OK, two sons, Johnny Palmer and his wife Yvette of Newport Center, VT, Jay Palmer and his wife Brandie of Norman OK. Five Grandchildren Alexis, Johnny, Reid, Taylor and Jayson. And six great grandchildren, Auraelia, Bostyn, Spencer, Stryker, Scout, and Presley.

A memorial service will be held March 24, 2018 at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home at 5005 S.E 29th Street, Del City OK 73115 at 2 P.M. with Graveside to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens 3400 N. Midwest Blvd. Midwest City, OK 73141
