She is survived by her older brother Don Nichols, her three sons, Donald, Jeffrey, and Christoper Brien, her three granddaughters, Amanda and Brittany William, and Evelyn Brien, as well as her great-granddaughters, Christian and Nicole William, and her great-grandsons Wyatt Beaman, and Xavier and Gabriel Brown. Judith was born in Junction City, Kansas on July 18th, 1944. Her family moved to Sacramento, then to Japan where she lived as a child before returning to California. Due to her academic excellence in high school, she was offered a number of scholarships. She chose Oklahoma Baptist University and graduated from there with a Master’s Degree in Community Education. As a young graduate, she taught German and Russian and was fluent in both languages. Following this, she worked as the Community Director for the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma helping them to raise their level of education and health. After moving on from there, she worked with the State of Oklahoma where she performed duties as a social worker until she had a a car accident and had to take early retirement. Judith was a devout Christian and an active member of the church. She was a recovering alcoholic and an avid fan of game shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was a patriot who loved her country as well as a gifted amateur pianist who enjoyed playing classical music. Judy loved animals and delighted in gardening and growing flowers. She had a keen mind and enjoyed discussing politics, sociology, and religion in depth. For the people who knew her best though, what we will remember most is her warmth, quirky humor, and grace. May our beloved mother rest in peace.
