Linda Francis Shepard

Linda Francis Shepard, age 60, went to be with her Lord May 15, 2008. She was born October 9, 1947 in McAlester, OK to Daniel and Addie Lavarnway. She received her Bachelor of Education in elementary teaching from UCO. She loved being being outdoors and nature. She encouraged her children to learn about nature and the animals. She would go on hikes, look for caves and go fishing. she was interested in Indian Artifacts, coins and history museums. When she was younger she would sew clothes, including doll clothes for Rebeccas dolls. She loved her grandkids and spending time with them. When she wasn't busy with this she would enjoy reading a good book. She also taught Sunday School at her church and helped in childrens church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father Daniel LaVarnway. She is survived by her children: David Shepard and wife Eiizabeth, Rebecca Lawton and husband David, Roger Shepard; mother: Addie LaVarnway; brother: Daniel LaVarnway Jr. and wife LaWanda; sister: Ellen Roberts and huband Roy; 4 grandchildren: Blake and Brionna Lawton, Autumn and Andrew Shepard; nephew: Robert Henry Jr., and wife Jennifer; great niece Hannah Henry and numerous other loved ones and friends. Funeral Services will be 10 AM, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Bethesda Assembly of God Church with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
