Mary V. Dye

Mary V. Dye, age 89, of Del City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1934 in Colony, OK to William and Lennie Belle (Ditmore) Patterson. She married Joe Harrison Dye on October 19, 1987, and they were together until his passing on May 17, 2010. She worked for 25 years at Sears in the warehouse office. After retiring from Sears, she took care of her granddaughter, Andrea Shipman, then years later took care of granddaughter Cheyenne Phillips and great-grandson, Cam'Ron Wharton. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a faithful servant of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and serving other people in any way she could. She was extremely passionate about sports, especially football and basketball. She loved to watch her daughter Cheryl play softball, and later on in life watching her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to laugh at hearing her daughter Cheryl make up songs every morning. Most of all, she would spend as much time as she could with family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dye; daughter, Belinda Bridges; daughter Tara Dye; sister Dorla Klein; and sister Loretta Scott.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Phillips; daughter Melissa Weatherman (husband Jay); son Larry Dye; daughter Paula Linn (husband Gary); son John Dye (wife Hallie); son Derek Dye (wife Janet); son Terry Dye; sister Marilyn Ray; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th Street, Del City, OK 73115. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
