Mary Ellen Russell

Mary was an avid fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball and University of Oklahoma girls’ softball teams. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She taught them how to make her famous apple and pecan pies. Mary and the entire family would get together on holidays and would have special contests such as pumpkin carving on Halloween and dying Easter eggs. Recently, Mary began using Facebook and loved playing trivia.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter “Eddie” Barrowman; Aunt Pauline; and maternal grandmother, “Granny”. Survivors include her children, Kenny Russell, Melody Doty, Anita Russell, Kevin Russell, Ellen Sifford and husband Kevin, Jim Russell and wife Kristi, and Cheryl Russell; grandchildren, Tiffany Whitmire-Houghtlin and husband Will, Michael Baumann, Crystal Baumann, Karri Sherman and husband Russell, Amanda Hughes and husband Randy Lewellen, Jessica Russell and husband Chris Medina, Kayla Eubank, Kimberly Eubank, Tabitha Russell and husband Jared, Emily Cooper, Eric Russell, Erin Russell and husband Adarian Bush, Evan Easton, and Eva Easton; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Barrowman and wife Carolyn, Larry Barrowman, Jo Ann McGhee, Linda Barrowman, and Paula McCoy and husband Don ; and numerous other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Sunny Lane Cemetery. The family would like anyone attending the memorial service to wear the color purple or Oklahoma City Thunder basketball attire.
