Phyllis Lee Sanchez passed away on November 16, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Roy and Gladys Tyler. She attended Capitol Hill High School and later went to beauty school and worked as a hair dresser for 50 years. She worked out of her home which was the same house she lived in her entire life. She married Larry Joe Shepherd in 1959 and was married for 22 years. They were blessed with four children Tami, Teri, Larry Joe, Jr., and Lanny.
Phyllis was the true definition of a home maker and was known for her cooking and baking which she loved. She was also a skilled seamstress and loved making clothes for her children particularly their Easter outfits and all other holiday apparel.
In 1982 she married Tommy Sanchez and they made a lifetime of memories together. She loved bowling and was good at it…truth be known this is where she met Tommy. Phyllis was a member of the South Lindsay Baptist Church. She loved God, her church family, but most of all she loved singing in the church choir. She had a lovely voice and enjoyed singing with her father, daughter, Teri, and her good friend Letha. She and her good friend Letha would later produce a CD of church songs which they enjoyed for years later.
Phyllis was quite witty and had a knack for making people laugh. She had a ton of Phyllisisms and it was understood that when you left her home you were leaving with a belly full of great food and lots of laughs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Gladys Tyler; brother, Ronnie; sister, Betty; and two sons, Larry Joe Shepherd, Jr. and Lanny Samuel Gene Shepherd. She leaves behind her husband Tommy of 39 years and two daughters, Tami & husband, Paul Jaramillo; Teri & husband Rick Sanchez; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
