He was one of eight children born to Lee Roy South and Juanita (Oliva) South. A life long resident of Oklahoma City Buddy attended Crooked Oak High School. He joined the Marines in 1968 and was deployed to Vietnam, returning home in 1970. A very loving Husband to Patsy Jo South for 44 years, he was also a father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. One of Buddy’s best traits was his big heart, he would do anything for anyone and not blink an eye. His passion for the outdoors was second to none, if you didn’t see him with a fishing pole(or 10) in his hand he would probably be sitting in a tree stand. He wouldn’t be shy about telling you about his last fishing trip, and boy did he know how to catch fish.
