He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew Choate, Mikayla Choate, Aiden Choate, Selda Stewart, Emma Stewart, Heaven Choate, Ethan Choate and very many nieces and nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his father Vonnie Lee Choate, his mother Clara Massengale, his brother Michael Lee Choate, his brother Richard Lee Choate, his brother Jerry Bob Akers, and his nephew Lawrence Michael Choate.
Roger was dedicated to taking care of his family. He also was the type of man who would help anyone in need if he could. Most of his adult life his was in management wherever he was employed. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles, coaching soccer, listening to music and watching tv. He also had a great sense of humor (although it could be twisted sometimes) and loved to make jokes and live in the moment.
Roger did what he had to do to get the task at hand done. All his children do the same. He was very proud of what his children have accomplished in their lives so far. He overcame a rough upbringing and gave his family more than what he had as a child in all regards. He always made sure that any needs of his family were taken care of, and he did his best to make sure all the wants of his family was met.
He always said that if anything was worth doing, it was worth doing right the first time.
One point that he was very adamant about is that when he passed away, he did not want to be mourned, but he wanted family and friends to have a celebration of his life.
