

He was an avid golfer and it is fair to say that golfing was his greatest passion. He also enjoyed reading, fishing, watching old westerns and working puzzles. Leon retired from Jack Cooper Transport after many years of employment. He was a member of the Shawnee Elk’s Lodge, a 32 degree mason, and a Shriner.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Evelyn L. Peeler; daughter, Debra Lopez; siblings, Glen, Harlan, Robert and Gerald Peeler. Survivors include his children, Diane Sehr-Obanion (John), Tonnette Austin (Jerry), Tonyah Goenaga (Joe), Rodney Grady (Michelle); grandchildren, Delilah Zaniewski, Kenneth Tupper, Danny Austin (Bobbie), Jarad Stout (Caroline), Emily Austin, Amanda Goenaga, Angelica Lindsay (Chris Rawlings), Melissa Gonzalez (Kevin Perchalski), J.J. Gonzalez, Keirsten, Macy and Rodney Grady, Alec and Layne Thrower; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary “Audrey” Testerman.
The family will be receiving guests on Sunday, from 3:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, north of Meeker, OK.
