Russell Leroy Springer

Russell Leroy Springer was born on June 22, 1949 and went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2022. He was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1967. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army where he became a sergeant and served in the Vietnam War. When Russell returned he started work at Buss Horton Ford and continued working his way up in Ford dealerships until he retired as parts manager.

Russell enjoyed watching boxing and westerns. He also collected antiques, but he loved working on classic cars most of all. He had a few cars himself that he would enter in car shows where he acquired awards over the years. He did paint and body work as a side job as well as a hobby and he taught others some of his knowledge of cars along the way. Russell helped many people with their cars and in any other way he could. He was a jack of all trades and a master of them too! He was always very witty and had a good sense of humor even though sometimes it was hard to tell if he was joking or not. He was a hardworking man which helped teach his children to have a good work ethic, he led by his example.

Russell is preceded in death by his father Armold Clyde Springer, his mother Ruby Fay Springer, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, wife Glenda Raines and wife Marsha Springer. He is survived by sisters Carol McGhee and Sherry Pierce, his children son Shane Springer and wife Lisa, son Keith Springer and wife Virginia, daughter Sherri Porter and husband David, daughter Angela SanRoman and husband Martin. Russell had 6 grandchildren Dustin Porter, Adam Porter, Ashley Phillips, Lathan Springer, Logan SanRoman and Mia SanRoman. Russell was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren with another on the way.

He touched many lives while here on this earth and he will be greatly missed until we meet again. God never intends for us to stay here, but the people’s lives he touched and the memories that were made live on even after he has gone. We loved him so very much!
