

Sachiko had 4 sisters, Kikako, Tsyako, Noriko, and Kazuyo. She grew up in Nagoya, Japan which is located in the Central region of Japan. She excelled in sports,and her dream was to play the piano. She met Gaines Austin Slaten in 1954 on a blind date. They began to date and later married on June 20, 1956. Sachiko obtained her U.S. Citizenship and her and Gaines moved to the United States, making their home in Del City, Oklahoma. Gaines was transferred to Korea a few years later and while deployed there, Sachiko returned to Japan to give birth to their only son, Austin Lee Slaten on Nov. 10th, 1967. Sachiko was a housewife who took pride in providing for and taking care of her family. Sachiko's life was made so much happier when she became the proud “Baba” to Austin James Slaten and Abigayle Lee Slaten her precious grandchildren. Sachiko's life was further enriched by the addition of Paisley Elizabeth Marie Slaten, her great grand-daughter. Sachiko's home in Del City was her one and only home, and was where she was residing up until her passing. Sachiko was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Gaines Austin Slaten.
A private ceremony for friends and family will be held Saturday, October 27th at 10:00 a.m. at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City following with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
