Scott Edward Dowell, 78, of Warr Acres, OK passed away in his home Thursday June 23, 2016. He was born on Sept 28, 1938 to Alfonzo E. and Carol (Gessaman) Dowell. Scott graduated from Moweaque High School and attended Millikan University before serving his country in the U.S. Army, SFC 1959-1979, retiring as a Vietnam veteran. Then he began his 20 + year career with the State of Oklahoma’s Historical Society.
Scott is survived by his two stepsons, Terry and Randall Lawson, sister, Nola Flesch, of Oreana, Illinois, 1 niece, Tracy, 2 nephews, John and Richard, 2 great nephews and 3 great nieces, and many extended family members. Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Alfonzo and Carol, 1 sister, Sharon, his brother Willard; his first wife Fumie (Hamatake), and his 2nd wife Jessie Forehand, both of whom were loving companions. Scott is also preceded in death by his stepson, Thomas Lawson. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Knob Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK, with interment at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK.
