Shirley worked for the Department of Defense for many years. After retirement she enjoyed going out with her friends, playing billiards, spending time on her patio, garage sales, watching Chicago Fire, Survivor, and OU Football. Shirley was a patriotic woman and her home was always decorated for the holidays, especially the 4th of July.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen Joseph Bennett; grandson, Stephen Bennett. Survivors include her children, Charles Bennett (Kristy Ashley), Rickey Bennett; grandchildren, Chase, Heather, Shawn and Bradley Bennett; several great-grandchildren; half siblings, Sue Brewer, Bobby and Glen Boyd.
A private service will be held at a later date.
