Sophie Wiyninger was born in Kühnhausen, Bavaria, Germany, on January 6, 1933. She emigrated from Germany to Canada, and then to the United States, where she married her sweetheart, James B. Wiyninger, Jr. after a long-distance courtship that started in Germany. They traveled to many places as Jake served in the Air Force for twenty years. When he retired, they settled in his home state of Oklahoma, with their four children: Alan, Ray, Brenda, and Dean.
In the spring of 1971, Sophie was led to the Lord by Bro. Sam Davison, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Del City. In January of 1991, Sophie and Jake joined Southwest Baptist Church where they remained faithful until their passing. Sophie loved her church family so much!
Sophie joined her husband, Jake and son, Alan in Heaven on October 9, 2023. She is survived by her 3 remaining children: Ray and his wife, Norma; Brenda Denton and her husband, Mike; and Dean and his wife, Crissie; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Sophie loved her family, and worked hard all her life to keep a home that was safe, clean, and filled to overflowing with love. She will be sorely missed every day!
Visitation for Sophie will be from 4-8pm Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City. Services will be at 10am Friday, October 13, 2023 at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City.
