Stephen “Steve” Ned Vandemeer, 62, passed away on February 14, 2015. Steve was born on November 12, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK to Henry Thomas Jr. and Martha Ann Vandemeer (Witt). Steve was the president of the neighborhood watch association and was a member of the Midwest City Volunteer Parking Patrol. He enjoyed watching Oklahoma State University sports and Midwest City Bomber football, taking vacations to the Gulf Shore where he would scuba dive, and spending time with his family. He recently had retired after 37 years from the Oklahoma County Tax Assessor. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers, Stanley and Stuart Vandemeer; and step brother, John Wagner. Survivors include his sister, Stacey Anderson and husband Blake; nephews, Riley Anderson and Will Anderson; step mother, Ruby Anne Vandemeer; step brothers, Bob Wagner and wife Ginny and Rick Wagner and wife Leslie; sister-in-law, Jonie Wagner; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
