On July 11, 1961, she married Clarence Lee Easton at the American Embassy in Naha, Okinawa. Together they raised a large family with eight children. Sue enjoyed spending time with her family. Her cooking always brought everyone together. In her younger years, she always had a vegetable garden, enjoyed fishing, quilting, and sewing. Sue was an avid football and baseball fan. Her favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. She had a love for country music that she passed along to the rest of her family. Many times she would travel to Indiana to see her daughter, Pati, and other times she flew to Hawaii and Okinawa to visit her family.

Survivors include her children, Hiroko Yates, Sachiko Keene, Jimmy Easton, Pati Umar, Jon Easton, Lisa Gray, Danny Easton, and Bryan Easton; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Chosei Fukuhara; sisters, Nobuko, Shigeku, and Masako; and many other family members who will miss her dearly.
