Tenna Lou Simmons, age 88, passed away on June 15, 2021. She was born on February 15, 1933 in Bromide, Oklahoma to Arlie Kirkpatrick and Leola Germany. Tenna married Jody Leeroy Simmons in Scott County, Arkansas on March 15, 1952. They had three children; daughters, Tuwana and Becky, and a son, Roy. Tenna, known to many as “Lady”, worked in retail until she retired at the age of 88. Lady loved books and was an avid reader. She was extremely passionate about sports such as the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, Lady Vols basketball, but nothing compared to her love of the New York Yankees. Tenna loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Leeroy Simmons, son, Roy Simmons and son in law, Damon Braley. Lady’s memories will continue to be cherished by her brothers, Willie Kirkpatrick and wife, Mevelyn, and Kenneth Kirkpatrick and wife, Lyla, daughters; Tuwana Bixler and Becky Braley, daughter in law, Christy Simmons, Jim Swigart and wife, Mia, grandchildren; Major William Brookshire and wife, Candace, Christel Brookshire and significant other, Ryan Lugafet, Ashlee Myers and husband, Staff Sergeant Matt Myers, Stevie Dunning and husband, Jeremy Dunning, Sarah Simmons, Michael Williams and wife, Erica, Waylon Robinette and wife, Ashley, great grandchildren; Mallory Knight and husband, Josh, Emily Rasnic and significant other, Coltyn, Landon, Laynee, Kiley, Shelby, Macie, Wyatt, Lyanna, Shaman and Brenden.

My Momma, can't describe what a wonderful soul, caring, loving, giving person you will ever know or had the pleasure to know. She has a heart of gold, left in everyone of us who had the honor to know her.

I worked with her back in the 70's. She taught me a lot about retail. She was always super friendly. I will miss seeing her at Walmart. She made a great impression on my life. I will always remember her as a great and loving lady
