Velma Lea Armstrong 72-year-old resident of Del City, Ok passed away March 9, 2009. She was born in Quinlan, Tx June 8, 1936 to Alansom and Stella (Monk) Norris. Velma married Don J. Armstrong, on August 14, 1953. She attended Del City Nazarene Church and loved yellow roses, and country and gospel music. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Earl, Byrd Jr., and J.D. and great grandson Dayson. She is survived by her husband Don Armstrong of Del City, Ok, 2 sons, Don E. Armstrong and wife Rachel of Choctaw, OK; Jack Armstrong and wife Jaretta of Del City, OK; 2 daughters, Tammy and husband Wayne of Richfield, UT; and Cyndy and husband Mike of St. George, UT; 13 grandchildren Eric, Joey, Collin, Christina Lea, D.J., Ben, Adam, Luke, Timothy, Faith, Holly, Michael and Heather; 7 great grandchildren, Jaxon, Preston, Jayden, Ethan, Luke Ryan, Aniston, Brogun, Kanon, and Cali. She is also survived by 2 brothers Gerald and Jack and 5 sisters Lorene Trammell, Almarie Jones, Era Mae Griffin, Joyce Jacks, Helen Luna, and other friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Del City Nazarene Church with burial following in Sunny Lane Cemetery.
