Vera Helen Wallace went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2022 after 93 years. Helen was born January 8, 1929 to John and Flora Viola (Lumsden) Wallace in Decatur, Texas. After graduating from high school, Helen went into the workforce, often in a clerical setting.
Helen was a collector. She collected everything from bells, figurine birds, and stuffed animals (stuffed bears in particular). When walking into the house, every space was filled with a stuff bear or bird. Helen also enjoyed action movies, Cats 101 and Dogs 101, and John Wayne, but above all she loved spending time with her big family and her pets. Helen was a longtime member of Moore First United Methodist Church and her faith was important to her.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Hornbeck and Nelda Lee. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Helen will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 1 – 5 pm at Sunny Lane Funeral home, located at 4000 SE 29th ST, Del City, OK. Services will be at 11 am, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Sunny Lane Funeral Home with interment to follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
