My name is John Yager. I moved to Del City from Chickasha in 1959 and Corky was my barber until I moved to Washington, Missouri in 2006 after my wife passed away. Corky was a very good friend and an excellent barber. I had been wondering if Corky was still cutting hair and decided to use Google to search for him. I know it’s been awhile since his passing but please accept my condolences for your loss.

My entire family was friend with Corky/family throughout the years.  My (3) brothers Fred, Larry & Wes Tillman were great friends with him & shared many hilarious stories together.  You will be greatly missed & God bless your family thru difficult days ahead.  RIP!!!!

He was my first 42 partner at my first reunion and made me feel so welcomed. He cheered me on so i wasn't so nervous. He was one of a kind. I will miss him dearly.

Thoughts and prayers to all the family.  We lost a great man who had a special place in all our hearts.  His knowledge of sports and life in general was amazing. His great sense of humor was always appreciated !   He is a legend in these parts cuz everyone around here knew of Corkys barber shop!  RIP Corky!  You were loved by all!

Corky and I go way back to playing football and basketball at Crooked Oak.  I moved out of state for about 30 years and I have only visited with him a couple of times when I would go in for a hair cut.  He was a real good guy and will be missed.

I have the best of memories, growing up in Del City. Corky was a true icon. He always made you feel as if you were family. He and Gloria would always welcome you with open arms.My condolences to the entire Tollison family, on the passing of such a great man. R.I.P. Corky! You'll be missed!

If you are a native of Del City, or even the surrounding areas, you probably knew of the legendary barber, Corky Tollison. 

He cut my hair, my Fathers hair, both of my little brothers hair, and it seemed insignificant at the time, but he also cut my sons hair from the time he was a small boy until he was out of high school. About 19 years from the first time Corky cut Caleb's hair, he married one of Corky's granddaughters, Madison, Wes's youngest daughter. 

I can't speak highly enough about the family that my son married into. The Tollisons are a very close Christian family with strong morals and they uphold true family values. All of that can be linked back to the way Corky and Gloria raised their children. Corky was a great man and will be remembered for many things, but especially the great sense of humor he had, and the top notch haircuts he rendered.

To the Tollison family in its entirety, We are praying for you guys and if there is anything we can do please let us know.

Corky certainly was an Icon to Del City and surroundings.  Many memories are brought back from thru the years. Little League football never the same after the Tollison crew!!  I always think of him as I drive past the barber shop.  My sincere sympathy to Gloria and all of his wonderful family.  From all the Broadstones; Wilma, Tony, Carey Jo and Rodney.

To Tom Sharon and the rest of Corky's family Bud and I want to express our deepest sympathy to you all.  Corky was a Del City icon and will be missed by many.  So sorry for your loss.

I was lucky enough to have Corky as one of my uncles. Growing up in the Tollison Family could have its challenges. The three Tollison boys could never resist teasing, picking on, and pulling jokes on all of us poor helpless kids. It made for some interesting moments.
 We made a pretty formidable group considering there were 9 of us kids between Corky, Tom and Kenneth. Grandma Grace instilled a real sense of family in all of us. Growing up we would spend holidays together, play at the barbershop and spend the night with one another. I'm proud to say that Corky, Tom and Dad (along with their wives) continued the importance of family with all of us. Of course as we all grew up, got married and had children of our own we grew a bit too big for holidays together, but we still do our family reunions, weddings etc.
I don't need to tell anyone that knew my Uncle Corky what a special person he was. Between the barbershop and his coaching I've always had people go on and on about him when they found out that I was his niece.  It was always gave me a real sense of pride to know that people thought so much both of my uncles and my dad.
One of my all time favorite memories of Corky occurred when my first son Jeff was born. Uncle Corky showed up out of the blue (on his own) with a football and a baseball glove and ball in tow. He looked at Jeff grabbed his hand and said,  Yep, he is going to be great at sports. Look at the size of those hands! He will be able to wrap those hands around a ball with no problem what so ever! And he was right, Jeff was one heck of left handed pitcher!
I will always keep all of my memories of Uncle Corky close to my heart! I am thankful for all of the time we had with him. I want Aunt Gloria and Cindy, Vicki, Wes and Mike to know that all of my love is with them through this difficult time. As usual, we are all family and are here for one another always!
We will see you again Uncle Corky, in the mean time it's nice to know you are watching over all of us.

I have many memories of Corky, as he was my father-in-law for about 10 years, and I feel lucky to have met him, play cards with him, golf with him, visit him at his barber shop, have drinks with him, watch sports with him, talk life with him, go to dances with him and Gloria, have him at my son's sports events, etc... As you may be able to ascertain, I feel like he was pretty fun to hang around with, because he always made me feel welcome, even at times when I probably didn't deserve to be welcome.

I'll miss Corky, as will anyone who felt as if they could call him family and/or friend, but I feel blessed and fortunate to have loved and known him. I hope he knows how much my brothers and I appreciate the support Corky and his family provided us when my father passed, because it comforted us at a time when comfort is hard to find.

I hope family and friends will appreciate the fact he lived life and anyone who knows him, knows this is a fact. My guess is if you placed Corky in a room anywhere in the world, he would have the best stories about what he's been able to do in his life and that's why I hope everyone who loves him take the time to briefly mourn his passing, but also take the time to celebrate his life. Anyone who knows Corky knows this is what he would want everybody to do, because he sure enjoyed the ride! 

One thing all the people who knew Corky will miss the most, myself included,  is knowing where to find him on Saturday mornings with that big smile from behind whatever specs were in style at the time.

I only knew him by "corky". He always was in good humor always laughed when I saw him at the barber shop and was always nice to me.  Paul knew him a lot better than me and he will be hugely missed by us. Our thoughts are with his family.
