It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Thibodeaux Dubois, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the age of 97.
Doris was born on September 19, 1927, in Vermilion Parish to the late Ovey and Eve Broussard Thibodeaux.
Doris lived a long and beautiful life centered around faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the heart of five generations, a quiet strength and constant presence who shared her wisdom, warmth, and kindness with everyone she met.
Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren—each one a testament to her care and enduring love. Doris was more than a matriarch; she was a guiding light, a listener, a storyteller, and a source of unconditional love.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Mickey Hopkins and husband Kenneth and Susan Dubois; three grandchildren, Melody Thomas and husband Gary Don; Kevin Hopkins and wife Jennifer and Jennifer Hebert and husband Jake; six great grandchildren, Kevin Hopkins; Kenzie Thomas; Gary Mack Thomas; Devin Broussard; Damien Broussard and wife Emily and Lindsey Champagne and husband Devin and four great great grandchildren, Laykin, Colsten, Charlie and Eliette.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Dubois; one sister, Joyce Sonnier and one brother, Alvin Thibodeaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Fr. Clinton Sensat will officiate at the Mass. Following the Mass, Mrs. Dubois will be laid to rest with her husband at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 8:00 am until time of service with a Rosary at 9:00 am.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jake Hebert, Devin Broussard, Devin Champagne, Kevin Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins and Gary Mac Thomas.
