DELCAMBRE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for Elmer Raymond LeLeux, age 92. Fr. Randy Courville, Pastor of St. Nicholas Church in Lydia will officiate.
Mr. LeLeux will be laid to rest at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum with Full Military Honors by the Acadiana Veteran’s Honor Guard.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Evangeline Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. The Men’s Rosary Group will pray the Rosary at 10:00 am.
Mr. LeLeux was born in Delcambre, LA to the late Ulric and Adella Landry LeLeux and was one of six children. He passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at his residence in New Iberia surrounded by his five daughters.
Elmer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother who adored and cherished time spent with his family. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force who served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Lydia and the American Legion Post #0365. Mr. LeLeux enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and gardening. He often joked that he would take up golfing when he got old, but he was not old.
Survivors include his five daughters, Bethene L. Newland and husband Thomas; Amy L. LaCroix and husband Pete; Connie L. Pritchard and husband Michael; Lisa L. Fowler and husband Creig and Lori L. Viator and husband John; thirteen grandchildren, Brett Newland; Matthew Newland and wife Aly; Adam LaCroix and wife Crystal; Renee L. Fiala and husband Joe; David San Miguel-LaCroix and husband Daniel; Jeremy Pritchard and wife Jessica; Jessica P. Dean and husband Jeremy; Logan Fowler and fiancé Gabrielle; Taylor Fowler; Jed Viator and wife Candi; Jade Viator; Connor Viator and Caroline V. Robichaux and husband Samuel; fifteen great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth LeLeux and wife Stephanie; two sisters, Katherine Jo Anna L. Trowbridge and June L. Stubblefield and his longtime friend, Lucy Sagrera.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Migues LeLeux; one brother, Lester LeLeux and one sister, Ethel Louise L. Landry.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brett Newland; Matthew Newland, Adam LaCroix, David San Miguel-LaCroix, Jeremy Pritchard, Logan Fowler, Jed Viator and Connor Viator.
We are so grateful to LaTaunia and Dolly for the loving attention they showed while taking care of our “papa bear”. Also special thanks to Dr. Michael Prejean, Wendy, Tiny, McKenzie, and the staff at NSI Hospice.
