Eugene Suire

DELCAMBRE – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Eugene Suire, age 85, at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Herb Bennefield officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church Mausoleum with military honors by Vermilion Parish Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday. A rosary will also be recited during the visitation.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Suire passed away at 4:50 am on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Abbeville General Hospital.

Mr. Suire served in the Navy during WWII in Alaska. He was a member of both the VFW and American Legion. He worked as an electrical engineer and boat captain during his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Marie Suire; sons, Miles Eugene Suire and wife Cathy of Berwick, Jonathan Joseph Suire of Delcambre; daughter, Paula Suire Simmons and husband Mark LeBlanc of Delcambre; brother, John Suire; sisters, Lillian Folgmon, Nell Meaux, Gloria Viator, Cecile Toups, Theresa Peltier, Annette Parson, Faye Trahan, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Paula Suire and sister, Thelma Creasman.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Suire, Robert Simmons, Brett Simmons, Cody Simmons, Joey Simmons and Miles Suire
