Michael James Dore

DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Michael James Dore, age 61, at 11:00 am Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Nathan Comeaux officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until service time.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Michael passed away at 5:05 am on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Michael was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Super”. He was a mechanic by trade, both in the diesel and oilfield industries. He was always fixing things for his family and neighbors and was currently restoring an antique car. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Dina Thomas Dore of Erath; two step children, Tucker John Landry of Delcambre and Kimberly Landry Quibodeaux and husband Zach of Erath; two step grandchildren, AnnKatherine Reaux and Peyton Reaux; two sisters, Brenda Dore Hebert and husband Arcade, Jr. of Delcambre and Wanda Dore Bourgeois and husband Kenneth of Abbeville and two brothers, Timothy P. Dore of Lafayette and Roland J., Dore and wife Maria of Killeen, TX and his nieces and nephews, David Hebert, Wayne Hebert, Tonya H. Crochet, Hope D. Lewis, Chancie D. Hebert, Jenny B. Bengtson, Chet Bourgeois and Roland Dore, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ledier Joseph and Lou Ella Bourque Dore and one brother, Ledroy Joseph Dore.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bourgeois, Roland Dore, Roland Dore, Jr., Keith Palumbo, Chris Broussard, Jimmy Delcambre, and Timothy P. Dore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Elray Mire, Carlos LeBlanc, Glennry Landry, David Hebert, Tucker Landry and Peyton Reaux.
