Alvin Moskowitz, 99, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, integrity, and quiet intelligence. Born with a lifelong love of aviation, Alvin attended Aviation High School before continuing on to NYU, where he earned his degree in industrial engineering. His career reflected his meticulous mind and strong work ethic, but his passions extended far beyond his profession.
For all who knew him, tennis was one of Alvin’s greatest joys, and he was equally devoted to exploring the beauty of the United States through travel. He was a gentle, ethical, and loving man. Friends knew him as an intelligent, thoughtful, and gentleman. He loved to debate politics with his friends, engaging in lively conversations even when they didn’t always see eye to eye. Alvin approached life with resolve and dignity, always rising to meet any challenge that came his way. Alvin cared deeply about the causes he believed in and was an extremely charitable man, giving generously not only to organizations but also directly to others. He helped his family, neighbors, and even acquaintances, always offering support where he saw need. His compassion was one of the defining qualities of his life. Alvin was predeceased by Miriam Moskowitz, the love of his life, with whom he shared many cherished years.
He is survived by his daughters Janet (John) Dickie and Nancy Moskowitz (Vincent) D’Ambrosio; his grandchildren Rachel Kane (Jeff) of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, Victoria Farry of Albany, New York, and Amanda D’Ambrosio of Carmel, New York; and his beloved great-grandchildren Sean and Evelyn Farry.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Alvin Moskowitz to the PAPS Corp.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, December 5th at 11:30 a.m. at Eternal Light Memorial Garden, 11520 State Road 7 (441) in Boynton Beach.
