Herbert Isadore Tarant, born August 11, 1927, took his final breath in Deerfield Beach, Florida on August 31, 2022. His journey began in Coney Island, New York and continued to Bensonhurst where he met his future bride of more than 73 years in high school. He was honorably discharged from military service at the rank of Master Sergeant after protecting our freedom in World War II. Returning to civilian life, Herb left his family’s business to work in the embroidery industry until he retired to Florida with his wife Lucille. Herb and Lucille traveled to five continents and raised three children. He made friends easily and will be remembered for his deep commitment to his family, his tireless work ethic, his kindness, compassion, easy forgiveness, and witty humor. Though his three children, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and especially his beloved wife will mourn his passing, the world was fuller for his having lived and each of their days will be brightened by his memory.
