From my conversations with Rita, I learned that she wanted nothing more than to see her children happy.  That brought her more happiness than her own independent happiness and helped her to feel fulfilled. Family was very important to her and she was very proud of her children. She was a wonderful woman. Sometimes she was painfully honest, and this is a trait that I have always admired in her. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched, and I am so glad to have known her.  I will miss her.

I have such wonderful memories of your Mom and your Dad.They were such important parts of my childhood and long after my parents passed  away  they were still there as part of my life. My most vivid memory of Rita was her  sharp sense of humor and her gift of  wit. I looked forward to their visits because I anticipated Rita’s responses to basically EVERYTHING! I  will miss her special gift of  intelligent humor  !  

Grandma, thanks  for always being a sounding board to listen to my complaints and to actually understand
 my worries. As you once said the parents are supposed to discipline  and grandparents are supposed to spoil and you very much spoiled me.  I wouldn’t have been able to come so far in life  without your wisdom, laughter and most of all venting. You taught me that determination and drive and most of all being organized are valuable skills in life. I miss you so much ❤️

Rita, I am so appreciative of the time we were able to spend together. I loved listening to your stories about Janet, Steve, and Gary growing up as well as the hijinks between you and Alli. I was so touched when you included me on your tree of birthday dates in your apartment. I wish we could have played more card games together, but bridge is very difficult to learn! Thank you for all the good times, laughs, and including me in your family! I will miss you!

I admired my Grandma Rita deeply. In addition to being incredibly intelligent, my Grandma was able to systematically approach any problem, big or small. From untying the most tangled-up ball of a knotted necklace string to helping her children and grandchildren make life-changing decisions, Grandma Rita was a reliable source of wisdom and advice. She is unmatched in solving puzzles, riddles, or crosswords. She also gave the best recommendations and reviews of books and movies. Conversations with my Grandma were always fascinating, and you would often leave knowing something new or knowing something more about whatever topic you discussed. Grandma Rita was someone you wanted in your corner; her support and encouragement was always sincere and steadfast. She had a great sense of humor that I will miss tremendously. I am grateful and honored to be her granddaughter. She is loved and will be missed by all of us.

Mom truly loved her family and wanted all the best for each of them. She was always there to comfort us, lend us her ear, support us, and offer us her unvarnished thoughts and advice. Her wit and wisdom will sorely be missed as she leaves a void that will remain with all that knew her. She was a remarkable woman.

Rita was always so kind and welcoming to me. Although I didn't have the chance to know her better, she will be missed. 

Rita had an indomitable will strong enough that she passed her height down to her granddaughters.  She loved her grandchildren deeply, and we adored her, looking up to her wit, her wisdom, and her tenacity. To see her and spend time with her was an incredible blessing.

Some of her happiest times were when she was with all the family and some of my happiest times were spent with her. I miss listening to her stories, adventuring out to discover new restaurants and “fighting” with her over dessert. She leaves a huge void in our lives. We will always miss her. 

I think this picture beautifully captures the spirit of our mother. She was a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed.
