Stan was born in New York City and eventually moved with his late father and brother, Leo to Great Neck, New York Stan was raised in Great Neck but eventually made his way back to New York City, after a brief stop in Larchmont, where he raised his children, Deanna and Seth. He worked his way through the depression as a shoe salesman at Macy’s and then made his way to Wall Street where he was a pioneer in the art of arbitrage. Stan retired as a Member of the firm Josephthal & Company in the 1990’s and moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. Stan was an avid and skilled golfer being a member of Montammy Golf Club in Alpine, New Jersey prior to his retirement and then at Hunter’s Run in Florida. He is remembered by many for his oft stated desire to “shoot my age or below” which, by the way, he did often. Stan continued to play golf well into his 90s and amazed everyone with his golf game, especially given his age. He lived a long and good life and will be missed by his family and friends.
