Constance Elaine Montgomery was born November 3, 1937 at home in Nardin, Oklahoma but was always "Connie". Her parents were Luther and Wyneta (Clouse) Montgomery. She graduated from Blackwell High School and Draughon School of Business and later attended Rose State College. She married Michael C. "Mike" Shaw on August 22, 1975 and they raised their six children who gave them 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Connie battled a debilitating disease for over 40 years, with an increasing loss of mobility but never allowed it to prevent her greeting everyone with a smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Dale David Duroy and Mike Shaw, daughter-in-law Esther Duroy, grandson Michael Stephens, brother Nelson Montgomery and sister Melba Maurer. She is survived by husband Mike Shaw of the home, sons Brent Duroy (Sherri Heath), Chris Duroy (Carrie), Edward Duroy (Leigh) and daughter Terry Shaw, along with 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Denison, followed by graveside services and burial at 3:30 PM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
