Ellen R. Lewis Saxon

Funeral service for Ellen will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel, with Marlin Harp officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Saxon, John Jacobs, Josh Jacobs, Dick Nicewander, Melvin Jackson and James Baker.

Ellen was born in Hagerman, Texas on August 30, 1921, the daughter of Roland Lewis and Nellie Keeton Lewis.

She married Joseph O. Saxon on February 27, 1938 in Denison, Texas. As a military family, they enjoyed moving and making new friendships. Returning home to Denison brought them great joy as they watched their grandchildren grow up in a community they loved. She was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ, where she found many treasured friends. As a beloved mother and grandmother, she will truly be missed.

She is survived by son Jonah R. Saxon of Denison; daughter Jodie Jacobs of Mansfield; grandsons Kevin Saxon of Denison, John Jacobs of Mansfield, Josh Jacobs of Ft. Worth ; 4 great-grandchildren & special friends Dan & Aileen Ledbetter.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son Paul Saxon, sisters Billie Brogdon & Collis (Dumpie) Christman.
