

Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Bratcher Funeral Home. Service and Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Matherly was born Saturday, December 7, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Stanley Matherly and Rena Conkright. He attended school in Paris, KY and following graduation joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for over 23 years. During this time he was transferred to Perrin Air Force Base and relocated his family to Sherman, TX. After retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sargent E-8 from the Air Force, he was employed by Hardwick-Etter Industrial Supply in Sherman and after many years became one of the owners of the company until his retirement.
He enjoyed vintage westerns, cooking, working and being outside, fishing, family and his love for animals. He was a beloved Father, Husband, Brother and Friend as well as an upstanding business man who would always go out of his way to help others including neighbors and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Everett Matherly and Rena Conkright Matherly as well as his brothers Jimmy Matherly and Stanley Matherly, Jr., his sisters Jenva Mann, Louise Galbreath, Mary “Boots” Hinkle, Anna may Ruarke and his daughter Su’del Matherly.
He is survived by his daughter Vicki Matherly Skipworth of Sherman, Texas; wife Kitty Matherly of Sherman, Texas; sisters Edna Linville and husband Cecil, Betty Williams and husband Jack; brother David Matherly and wife Sue all of Paris, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
