George Ward

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 22, 2013 at Preston Bend Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas with Bobby Hancock officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cody Marshall, Kyle Ward, Keith Ward, John Little, Rhea Russell and James Hord. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Kelsay and Larry Rike.

There will be no formal family visitation, but viewing is available at Bratcher Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. daily.

George was born August 8, 1931 in Gainesville, Texas, the son of Frank Ward and Ada Fields Ward. He married Carol Rike and they have been married for 63 years. He was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and loved building and fishing.

He is survived by wife Carol; sons Keith Ward ,& Kyle Ward & wife Glenda; daughter Kristi Ward; grandchildren Misty, Melanie, Mandy, Destiny, Autumn, Cody, Tamara, Shawn; 13 great-grandchildren and Momma, the cat.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son Kim.

George was a wonderful husband, father, friend and boss and touched all his friend’s lives in so many ways. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
