Harry Roger Phillips

A memorial service will be held at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, Hurst Texas at 2:00 P.M. on April, 14, 2012. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Georgetown Cemetery in Pottsboro, Texas. Roger was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Roger was born August 2, 1937 to Thelma and Harry Phillips in Harriman, TN. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1958 and pursued a career in marketing and advertising, holding various management positions at different retailers, such as JC Penney, Montgomery Ward and JoAnn’s. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity while attending his beloved UT. He was an active member of the Texas Exes Alumni Association. He really loved the Longhorns. Since retirement, Roger and his wife have enjoyed fishing, traveling, bicycling and Longhorn football.

Roger is survived by his wife of thirty six years, Mary Anne Phillips; children: Scott and Alicia Phillips, Ron and Kelly Brown, Ren Brown, Kim Phillips, Mike and Elizabeth Hoard;

8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson and 8 nieces.
