He was born Wednesday, April 17, 1946 in Dallas, Texas, the son of John W. Gentry and Dorothy Hill.
He worked for Texas Instruments and was in the U.S. Navy.
James is survived by son Jason Gentry of Plano, Texas; brothers Steve Gentry and wife Gail of Sherman, Texas, John W. Gentry, Jr. and wife Gay of Pottsboro, Texas; half-brother Rick Gross and wife Faye of Wichita Falls, Texas and sister Latricia Gentry of Lakewood, California.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, December 11, 2015 at Chapel on the Hill, Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.
