We know what a great loss you all must feel at this time and it breaks our heart to know that you are all hurting. May your pain soon subside and be replaced only by the precious memories that you shared with Kenneth.  We will be thinking of you all.

My memories of Ken (Poppy) will always be of the unselfish love he always had for our Mother We lost our Father when he was only 46 yrs old, but Ken came into our lives 30 yrs ago and always tried to be a father to all of us kids never trying to replace daddy but just to be there for us will miss you. Hi, my name is Madison. Poppy is my great-grandfather. Poppy and I were very close. I spent almost every weekend with him and Granny and most of the summers too. Some of my favorite memories are of the cookie stash he had next to his big chair. We had a package of Reesses peanut butter cups in the cabinet next his chair. We would get one out, eat the chocolate off then give the peanut butter to our dog Tater. In the mornings when Granny had to leave early he would ask me if I wanted an omelet. He would make me one. It would be a pretty normal one but it had a lot of cheese on it. It was a pretty darn good omelet too. I want to say to Poppy: "a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck". I love you Poppy. See you in Heaven.

I would like to say to Brenda Miller, Mary, Sissy, Teresa,  James Dean, and all other family members of Kenneth Brookins, that I am sorry for the heartache you each are going through at this time. May days turn brighter for you all, as days move forward.  Debra McDaniels (Debra Miller)

One of my most precious memories of my brother Kenneth was when I was in the fourth grade.  I was sitting at the dining room table in tears because I could not understand fractions and could not do the homework.  So he sat down at the table and began to explain fractions to me and every night there after until it finally made sense to me.  When I was a little older he also taught me how to play a mean hand of poker....he was my hero and I shall miss our lively political discussions.
