Joyce Marie Hodge Martin

Mrs. Martin was born September 2, 1947 in Denison, Texas. She was the daughter of William Sampson Hodge and Floye Marie Style Hodge. Joyce married Jerry F. Martin April 28, 1967 in Denison, Texas. She was a homemaker most of her life and had various part times jobs. She was employed by Quality Home Health until she became ill. She enjoyed helping others in need. She was a member of the Oakridge Baptist Church Denison, Texas where she taught Sunday school for the children and helped with Vacation Bible School. She loved being outdoors and taking care of her animals. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, Grandma and Maw Maw.

Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her mother, Floye Marie Styles Hodge, and father, William Sampson Hodge. Joyce is survived by her loving family: husband of 48 years, Jerry F. Martin of Denison, Texas; daughter Sandra Kay Martin Varga of McKinney, Texas; daughter Stacy Lynn Martin Hass of Denison, Texas; grandchildren Lindsay Michelle Hass of Denison, Texas; Aaron Christopher Hass of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Kassidy Leann Varga of McKinney, Texas; brother William Kit Hodge and wife Vickie, their children and grandchildren; sister Judy B. Harris and husband James their children and grandchildren.

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm.

Funeral services will be held at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm. With Rev. Sam Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Cherry Mound Cemetery in Denison, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Lindsay Hass, James Harris, Sr., James Harris, Jr., Cameron Huckins, Bailey Huckins and Aaron Hass.
