Juanita June Stowers Willis

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. for visitation.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church, 830 W. Main St., Denison, TX 75020, with Rev. Pete Robertson and Rev. Roy Spore officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090. Pallbearers will be Cade Butler, Beau Josselyn, Brian Hander, Smith Wright, Will Pyburn and Ralph Jones.

June was born June 3, 1918 in Achille, Oklahoma, the daughter of Fred W. Stowers and Emma Belle Bird Stowers. She married Dr. Walter Wolfe Willis on December 27, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1968.

She was an active member of Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison; a founding member of Denison Performing Arts; taught piano for many years in her home and was a substitute teacher for the Denison School District.

June is survived by son Dr. Guy Willis & wife Julie of Denison; sister Laverne Hilton Whitson & husband Robert of Scurry, Texas; grandchildren Rachel Willis and Paula Willis.

She is preceded in death by sisters Marie Simms, Lucretia Marrable, Hattie Holland; brothers Eli Perry, Roscoe Stowers and Ralph Stowers.
