Marvin was born, Tuesday, May 18, 1926 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Joseph and Sophia (Wollman) Miller. He graduated Storm Lake High School and joined the Army Air Force in 1943. After the service to his country, he attended New Mexico School of Mines, obtaining an engineering degree. Upon graduation Marvin became an engineer for Honeywell in Minneapolis. Marvin continued his education at Minneapolis Tech Institute, becoming a certified machinist.
Marvin was a successful farmer and carpenter. In his past time, he loved wood working and received many awards for his creations. Marvin loved traveling and experiencing other cultures. Marvin was very involved in Grayson County Habitat for Humanity for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years Carol (Killeen) Miller, son Julian Joseph Miller, great grandson Liam Jace DeVoy, and 15 siblings.
Marvin is survived by his sister Alice Miller Bauer of California, children Jules James Miller and wife Mary of Pocatello, Idaho, Julie Marie Young and husband Bill of Fort Myers, Florida, Susie Ann Miller and husband Gerry Schuetz of Pottsboro, Texas, Sunny Marie West of Fort Worth, Texas, Terrie Ann Van Huss of Hillsboro, Illinois, Robert Thomas Miller and wife Julie of Pottsboro, Texas, Dawn Marie Milbut and husband Tony of Irving, Texas, Patrick Jay Miller and wife Connie Knight of Austin, Texas, Scott Richard Miller and wife Robyn of Kingwood, Texas, and Kathy Ann Kirkland of Pottsboro, Texas; grandchildren Dennis Ross, Kristine Morales, Douglas Ross, David Gervais, Sean Strayer, Joshua Strayer, Brenda Hemann, Jonathan Gervais, Whitley McKey, Bailey Knight, Jessica DeVoy, Maryann Van Huss, Ryan Cronin, Megan Kirkland, Luke Miller, Jared Miller, Colton Kirkland, Jackson Kirkland, Grayson Kirkland, and Mason Miller; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.
Rosary and Family night at 6 pm, Monday, September 3, 2018 at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas. Funeral Mass will be 10 am, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Denison, Texas.
