

May “Cricket” Eldredge, 98, went to be with the Lord at 10:45 PM, Sunday February 10, 2013 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 16, 2014 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas, with Rev. Mark Roach of Belmont Baptist Church officiating.
Millie May Eldredge, known to her friends as May “Cricket” Eldredge, the third child of Homer Byron Coats and Cordelia Frances Huse Coats, was born Tuesday, October 27, 1914 in Ada, OK. Her father Homer was a farmer and he gave her the nickname “Cricket”. While she was still a young girl the family moved to Texas. In 1932 she married Lloyd Sutherland. After his death she married Floyd Eldredge and she became an X-Ray technician. She first worked for Dr. Weisberg then for many years the M-K-T Hospital. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. In 1976, May was very proud to be installed as Worthy Matron of Gate City Chapter 77, Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Frances Cooke Van Zandt Chapter of the DRT, Fort Worth, TX. May had many hobbies: reading, sewing, knitting, working in the yard and in later year’s golf. She was a wonderful artist and loved oil painting and porcelain painting. She also was a fabulous cook and made the best lemon cake, it was something everyone looked forward to eating at every family event.
May is survived by brother, H.B. Coats of Sherman, TX; daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Jack Davis of Fort Worth, TX; daughter Lola Miller of Denison, TX; grandchildren, Janet and Kelly Ball and Kathy and Terry Martin, all of north Richland Hills, TX, Keith and Rhonda Davis of Acworth, GA, Carol Basore of Cibolo, TX, LeAnne and John Andrichak of San Antonio, TX, Martin “Sonny” and Marla Worthington of Tulsa, OK, Cynthia “Cindy” Kennedy of Muskogee, OK, Mary and Paul Mauney of Fort Belvoir, VA; great grandchildren, Ginnie Ball and Brandi Martin of North Richland Hills, TX, Justin Davis, Nichole and Matthew Beyer, all of Acworth, GA, Victoria and Thomas “TJ” Farrar of Universal City, TX, John “JJ” Andrichak and Meredith Andrichak of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer and Kolin Zomnir of McKinney, TX, Luke Worthington of Waco, TX, Lee and Natalie Jones of Ardmore, OK, Eric Kennedy of Bristow, OK, Linda and Donald Stowers of Muskogee, OK, Kyler Sergio and Jordan Sergio of Fort Belvoir, VA, Crystal and Jay Wimpey of Dallas, TX; great great grandchildren, Thomas “TK” Farrar, James Vega, Oliver Zomnir and Seth Jones; step-son and wife Weldon and Nancy Eldredge and their daughters, Debbie, Diana and Dana; step-son and wife Bill and Caroline Eldredge and their children Valarie, Melanie and Kenneth and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
