Patricia Anne Johns

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison for visitation on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Roy Spore officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.

Patricia was born September 11, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Ole A. Anderson & Nellie Fassett Anderson. She lived in Spencer, Iowa until 1936. Her family moved to St. Charles, Minnesota. She also lived in Rochester, Minnesota. The family moved to San Francisco, California in 1942 and there she graduated from high school and Lux College.

She was employed by the California-Nevada Conference of the Methodist Church until her marriage in 1955 to Richard A. Johns and moved to Dallas, where they lived until 1957 when they moved to Denison.

She was active in P.T.A. at Hyde Park, Hughes Junior High and Denison High School; was a Cub Scout and Camp Fire leader; also served on the Board of Directors; was a member of the Waples UMW, serving as President and other offices and had a Life Membership; was currently a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sherman, where she was a Sunday School teacher and a Super Senior Group member; was Past President of the Friends of Wesley Village and a volunteer at Wesley Village.

She is survived by husband Richard of Sherman; sons Michael R. Johns & wife Vicki of Leesburg, Texas, Paul B. Johns & wife Carol of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Lori A. Jones & husband Tommy of Richardson, Texas; 4 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.
