Funeral services are set for 1:30 P.M., Friday, March 30, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel, 1501 Hwy. 91 N, Denison, TX 75020.
Paul was born on February 25, 1928 in Denison, Texas to E. S. Lacey and Vertie (Overturf) Lacey. He grew up in Denison and enlisted in the Army as a senior in high school. He met and married Doris Wallace prior to re-enlisting in the Air Force where he became a bomber pilot in SAC and served his country honorably with stops in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Bangor, Maine, Wichita Falls, Texas and Puerto Rico. He retired from the military and returned to Denison where he went to SOSU and became a teacher. During his 15 years of teaching at Denison ISD he touched the lives of many students.
Paul was the kind of man that could fix it, build it or get around it; whether it was skeet shooting with a broken arm or buying a box of wood and turning it into a guitar. He liked to garden and support his grandkids in their many adventures. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell.
Paul is survived by: Doris, his loving wife of 61 years; brother Doug Lacey and wife Beverly of Pottsboro, Texas; children Charles Lacey and wife Lisa of Allen, Texas, Susan Young and husband Bill of Hudson Oaks, Texas, Sharon Siems and husband Randy of Denison, Texas; grandchildren Danielle, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Monica, Kyle, Rachel, Renner and Madison.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison, TX 75020 (903) 465-2323. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.bratcherfuneralhome.com.
