Ruth Irby Ward

She was born to Rev. T. A. and Daisy Irby at Cooper, Texas on November 22, 1926. Mrs. Ward spent many years as a

dental assistant and office manager. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Kenneth G. Allen (1986) and George Philip Ward (2003); daughter Betty Carmichael (2007); brother Bruce Irby; sisters Doris Barrow and Sue Smith Wilkerson.

She is survived by daughter Carol Rogers and granddaughter Courtney Rogers, both of Denison; grandsons David Brent Carmichael of Hinesville, Georgia, Shawn Carmichael & wife Jennifer of Lynnwood, Washington; great-granddaughter Lily Carmichael of Lynnwood, Washington; brothers Lyndol Irby & wife Bernice of Denison, Rev. Galen Irby & wife Jane of Goodyear, Arizona, Weldon Irby & wife Jamie of Campbell, Texas; sisters Wanda Bailey of Ft. Worth, Texas, Faye Francis of Paris, Texas; step-daughters Dollie Harris and husband Dr. John of Springfield, Illinois, Georgia Gartner of Manatou, Colorado; step-son Dr. Gordon Ward & wife Jane of Ingleside, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2014 from 9 to 9:30 A.M. at Parkside Baptist Church, followed by a 10:00 A.M. service. Dr. Chet Haney, Rev. Galen Irby and Rev. Jerry Coffman will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
