Wanda Lou Belcher Cooksey

Wanda was born Saturday, July 13, 1935 in Titus County, Texas, the daughter of Moody Belcher and Lillie Mae Tutt Belcher. She was married to Doyle Price from 1954 to 1974. In 1980 she married Charles Cooksey.

She was the secretary at Golden Rule and Houston Elementary Schools; retired in 1993 to travel with an RV group; was an active member of Parkside Baptist Church in Denison since 1957; loved to china paint and gave as gifts to family and she loved spending time with her family. Every summer they hosted “grandparents” week at Lake Texoma for all their grandkids. There would often be eight RV’s of grandparents and grandchildren, parents were not allowed. Her greatest gift in life was her three children.

Wanda is survived by her husband Charles; daughters Sandra Kaye Price-Cox of Garland, Texas, Vickie Lynne Mezzacappa & husband Frank of Denison; son Randy W. Price & wife Bobbie E. of Talco, Texas; step-sons Charles Cooksey, Jerry Cooksey, Gary Cooksey; sister Jean Marie Wright of Star Harbor, Texas; brother-in-law C. W. Hornbuckle of Ivanhoe, Texas; nieces Robyn Gunderson & husband Marty, Paula Hornbuckle-Hipp & husband Don; grandchildren Jeremy W. Price & wife Leslie R., Lyssa Nichole Price, Dillon Grey Mezzacappa and fiancé Elizabeth Black, Kristen Dawn Cox, Kerri Lynn Cox; great-grandchildren Felicity Winter Price, Deacon Jeremiah Price, Kylei Autumn Price, Hayden Brooke Posey and Logan Asher Price.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joe Belcher, George Belcher; sisters Christine Belcher, Iva Lee Hornbuckle and twin Martha Sue Belcher.

The family will be at Bratcher Funeral Home for visitation Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:00 am at Parkside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Coffman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Frank Mezzacappa (son-in-law), Dillon Mezzacappa (grandson), Jeremy Price (grandson), Deacon Price (great-grandson), Jim Smith (nephew), and Ronald Collins (nephew).

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm at Belcher Cemetery in Talco, Texas with Dwayne Wilson, of Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
