William Francis McCord Jr.

Bill was born on June 16, 1930 in Whitewater, Wisconsin to William F. McCord, Sr. and Dorothy (Jones) McCord.

Bill served four years in the U.S. Army and 21 years in the U.S. Air Force retiring from the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant while serving at the Perrin Air Force Base in Denison, TX. He served in Korea and Vietnam. Bill was a consummate patriot continuing his service as a life member of the VFW. He served several terms as post commander in Denison, TX and Wilburton, OK. He was a life member of the Wilburton VFW Post #3649, American Legion MIA Post 231 in Pottsboro, TX and a member of the Lone Star Masonic Lodge, Denison, TX and a life member of the DAV. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim McCord and stepson, Danny Ray Davidson.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Polly of the home; brother, John McCord of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Nancy Morrow of Whitewater, WI; son, William F. “Rusty” McCord, III and wife, Linda of Denison, TX; daughters, Debbie Baker and husband Earl of Tampa, FL, Jacqueline Schuster and husband, John of Sylvania, OH, Dawn Robbins and husband, Mike of Denison, TX and Vicki Inman and husband, Dave of Celina, TX; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous loving nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Wilburton VFW Post 3649 and the Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Ralph Adcock officiating. Interment will be at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.

Family visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel, Denison, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.
