

Alice was born December 10, 1933 the youngest daughter of Timothy and Beulah Corsey of Waco, TX. She grew up with 4 brothers (Tim, Jr, Luther, Aaron, Lester) and 2 sisters (Ruth Williams and Johnnie Mae Sanders). After a life changing event Alice moved with her father and children to Denver, Colorado in February of 1970 and Colorado became her home. She was a faithful member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, then later moved her membership and servants heart to Rising Start Missionary Baptist in Aurora, Co until illness prevented her from regular attendance. She was the mother of 7 children whom she loved dearly. During the 50 plus years she lived in Colorado, she became an Entrepreneur, Alice spent her time serving people and opened her home to numerous foster children all of whom had developmental deficiencies or behavior issues. She was well known and loved throughout the Colorado Department of Children & Family Services and the Colorado Archdioceses.
Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Corsey, father, Timothy Corsey, her four brothers, Timothy Corsey, Jr, Luther Corsey, Aaron, Corsey and Lester Corsey; her sisters, Ruth Williams and Johnnie Mae Sanders, her daughter Lovie Sample and grandson Clarence Churchill.
Alice is survived by her six children, son Alvin Creighton (Vicki) of Riverside, CA; daughter Shirley Harris (Anthony) of Aurora, CO; daughter Alice Sample of Portland, OR; daughter Endia Sample -Brockington (Fred) of Denver, CO; son James Marcus Toney (Lorraine) of Tehlequah, OK; and her youngest and cherished son Reginald Toney of Denver, CO. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews and a lifetime of friends and friends who were like family.
Affectionately known as “NanNan” and “Nanny” to her children & grandchildren she will always be remembered for her uncompromising love for God, her amazing skills in the kitchen, her dynamic singing voice and her annual Happy Birthday serenades she always gave on our birthdays.
Oh behalf of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren we will endeavor to keep the circle unbroken for her. Rest sweetly in the arms of Jesus.

A visitation for Alice will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, 8600 East Hampden Ave, Denver, CO 80231.
