Arthur (Art) T. Romero Jr. was born in San Diego, California on February 27, 1960. He was the only son of Arthur Romero Sr. and Shirley Romero. His father preceded him in death in January of 2009. He is survived by his mother Shirley Romero, and sixteen year-old daughter, Aleah Marie Romero.
Art lived his life to the fullest until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. He fought cancer with courage and dignity, and unfortunately lost the battle. He loved to fish and would patiently sit on the bank of the river/lake with a “cool one” in his hand until the fish started biting. He loved listening to music and going to concerts. He also enjoyed motorcycling with his buddies.
Art spent his adult life working in the construction industry as a framer, roofer, carpenter, painter, tile layer, etc. He left behind fine workmanship of his craft such as beautiful decks, bathroom remodels, etc. He was known as a very hard worker.
Art’s greatest legacy is his friendship and love. He had many dear long-time friends. It is not unusual for Art to have friends from grade school. Art’s friendship and love is a testament to his kindness, generosity and warm heart expressed to his friends and family.
He leaves to celebrate his memory: His mother, Shirley Romero, his daughter, Aleah Romero, his brother-in-laws and sisters, Keefe and Cheryl Thomas, Paul Anderson and Alicia Romero-Anderson, and Ebony Terry and Tracey Romero, ten nieces and nephews, and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Roy and Shirley Baca, Norma and Richard Steiner, Lou and Brenda Nonay, Aggie Nonay, and nine first cousins.
He will be remembered for his courage and strength. He will be cherished as a son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend. His humor, laugh, friendship and love will be greatly missed.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery, Denver, CO.
