Curtis Randol Forehand was born in Weinert, Texas on April 21st, to Claudy and Maye Forehand. He was one of four children. Randy passed away at his home in Strasburg, Colorado on August 1st. He was 81.
For most of his life Curtis was known as either C. Randol, or just Randy. He preferred Randy. He was also known as adored husband, best Dad ever, Papa to his grandchildren, and friend. Not just a friend to a few people either; maybe it was the way he spoke - with a Texas twang and drawl, or his bright blue eyes and kind spirit, or maybe it was the sweet way he would listen, and offer words of encouragement or a hug, that attracted people to him. When most folks would go through the grocery store and wave a quick hi, or chat for a moment, Randy would let his wife Betty shop, and he would talk. He was genuinely concerned for people, or just wanted to hear their good news. He was humble, easy to talk to, had a quick wit, and was always happy.
Randy worked for United Airlines, first at the reservation desk, then moving on to where he finally became a pilot. He worked for one company for the majority of his working life, and after 38 years, retired. He was in the Bennett Watkins Lions Club, and was an Elder at his beloved church, Mountain View Fellowship in Strasburg. God came first to Randy, he was devoted to his church, and his funeral will be the very first in the new church building. He would have loved that, he was highly dedicated to the plans for the new building. Randy and Betty had been attending Mountain View since their church doors opened. Many people who came into church for the first time would be meet Randy, and be absolutely delighted the next time they came to church, because Randy had remembered their name.
While being active in his job, the Lions Club, and church kept him busy, Randy was also devoted to his family. He never missed a grandchild's sporting event - even if the weather wasn't the best. He was an awesome dad and Papa, and his family made him so proud. He loved, spoiled and cared for his wife of 37 years, Betty; he was always there for his children, Michelle, Curtis and Kimberly. And he kept up with his 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Randy joins his parents, Claudy and Maye, and grandson, Joseph Mark in heaven. He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Betty; children, Michelle, Curtis, Jr. (Nicole), and Kimberly (Nathan); grandchildren, T.J., Bjork, Ethan (Millie), Randol (Sarah), Peyton, Kelley, Caleb, Jonah, Brody, Keegan, Marleigh, Eden, Sari, and Judah; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Leah; brothers, Grandol (Donna) and Chet (Jeannie); sister, Dorothea (James); many other family members, and many, many, many, many friends.
Randy leaves an everlasting legacy of light, humility, and love. He will be deeply missed by all.
